Requirements

  • An iPhone with Face ID running iOS 18 or later.
  • A PC running a recent version of Windows 10 or Windows 11.
  • Your iPhone and PC connected to the same network.
  • A game that supports head tracking.

Installing the Windows beta

  1. Download PoseSix for Windows.
  2. Run the installer. You do not need administrator access.
  3. If Windows shows Windows protected your PC, select More info, then Run anyway.
  4. Open PoseSix from the Start menu and use the pairing code shown in the app.

Current beta notice: this version is for testers who already have the unreleased PoseSix iPhone app. The installer is not code signed yet, so Windows cannot confirm who published it and warns before running it. Signing is planned.

If an update will not install

Windows Smart App Control blocks programs whose publisher it cannot confirm. When it is turned on it can stop PoseSix from installing its own updates, and Windows Security may report that part of this app has been blocked.

If that happens, PoseSix shows a Download button instead of installing the update. Select it, or download the latest version and run the installer over your current one. Your profiles and settings are kept.

Pairing

  1. Open PoseSix on Windows.
  2. Open PoseSix on iPhone and scan the QR code shown on the PC.
  3. Place the iPhone where its front camera has a clear view of your face.
  4. Keep both apps open and wait for them to show Connected.
  5. Sit in your normal playing position, tap Recenter, then start your game.

If you see “Waiting for PC”

  • Make sure your iPhone and PC are connected to the same network.
  • Turn off any VPN temporarily.
  • Avoid guest Wi-Fi, which often prevents devices from connecting to each other.
  • Make sure you allowed PoseSix through Windows Firewall when prompted.
  • Reopen the Windows app, then reopen the iPhone app.
  • If it still will not connect, pair again using a new QR code.

If either app says an update is required, update the named app before pairing again.

Tracking

  • Keep the iPhone stable, with the screen facing you.
  • Make sure nothing is covering the front camera.
  • Use even lighting and avoid a bright light directly behind you.
  • Recenter after moving the phone, chair, or monitor.
  • Start with the Default settings before making changes.

Game support

  • Start PoseSix before opening your game. Some games look for head tracking only when they start.
  • Make sure both PoseSix apps show Connected, then restart the game.
  • Open the game’s settings and make sure head tracking is enabled.
  • Keep in mind that not every game supports head tracking.

Support may ask you to collect a report from the Windows app. If so, open Settings → Support information, select Collect report, repeat the problem, and then stop. Only send the report when support asks for it.
