Privacy policy
Your tracking stays between your devices.
Effective and last updated 11 July 2026.
1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the PoseSix website, PoseSix on iPhone, PoseSix on Windows, software downloads, and support communications. PoseSix is the name used for the software and support service described in this policy.
PoseSix does not require an account. The current apps do not contain advertising or analytics SDKs, and they do not send tracking or diagnostics data to a developer-operated server.
2. PoseSix on iPhone
The iPhone app uses Apple’s ARKit face-tracking technology and the TrueDepth camera to calculate movement. Camera images are processed by iOS on the iPhone. PoseSix does not record, save, or transmit camera images.
While tracking is active, the app sends derived head position and rotation, eye rotation, gaze and blink values, tracking state and confidence, sequence information, and timing information directly to the paired Windows computer. The app also sends the iPhone device name during pairing so the Windows app can identify the connected phone.
The iPhone app stores the Windows bridge identifier, bridge name, local network addresses and ports, and a random pairing secret in the iOS Keychain using device-only protection. PoseSix uses Camera access to scan pairing codes and track movement, and Local Network access to communicate with the paired PC.
3. PoseSix on Windows
The Windows app receives tracking data from the paired iPhone, processes it locally, and makes head-pose output available to compatible games.
To select per-game profiles, PoseSix can inspect the names and executable paths of running processes. This information remains on the Windows computer. An executable path is stored only when it is part of a profile you save.
The Windows app stores pairing identifiers and secrets, the paired phone name, tracking profiles and response curves, startup and tray preferences, window placement, and other settings under %APPDATA%\PoseSix.
4. Local-network communication
PoseSix sends control and tracking packets directly between the iPhone and Windows computer using UDP on the local network. Pairing uses a random shared secret, and Windows accepts tracking traffic only from the paired phone address after a valid handshake.
The local UDP transport is not end-to-end encrypted. Use PoseSix only on a network you trust. Pair the apps again if a pairing QR code or secret may have been exposed.
5. Diagnostics
PoseSix does not automatically create or upload diagnostics. When you choose Collect logs in the Windows app, PoseSix creates a JSON report locally. A report can include:
- the phone name and local IP address;
- PoseSix, Windows, architecture, build, and connection information;
- the active profile name, game executable name without its full path, and tuning settings;
- packet rates, counters, timing information, fault details, and runtime events; and
- a limited, low-rate timeline of recent movement samples.
Pairing secrets and full game executable paths are not included. You decide whether to send a report to support. Review it before sharing because it can contain device, network, profile, and movement information.
6. Website and download information
The PoseSix website does not use a developer-operated analytics service, advertising service, account system, or behavioural tracking technology. PoseSix does not set non-essential analytics or advertising cookies.
The website and Windows downloads may be delivered using Cloudflare infrastructure. As with ordinary web hosting, infrastructure providers can process technical request information such as an IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, download request, timestamp, and security signals to deliver content, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability. Cloudflare handles information under its own privacy policy.
7. Information you choose to send
When you email support or manually send a diagnostics report, we receive the information you include. This can include your email address, device and software details, description of the problem, and any attached files.
Do not send a diagnostics report unless it is needed for support. Do not include information unrelated to the issue.
8. App stores and platform providers
Apple, Microsoft, payment providers, and distribution providers may independently process purchases, downloads, crash reports, account information, or device information under their own terms and privacy policies. PoseSix does not receive full payment-card details.
Apple platform features, including the App Store, iOS permissions, ARKit, and the Keychain, are provided by Apple. Windows platform and distribution features are provided by Microsoft. Those providers control their own processing.
9. How we use information
We use information we receive only as reasonably necessary to:
- respond to support, privacy, and legal requests;
- diagnose reported faults and improve PoseSix;
- deliver and protect the website and downloads;
- prevent misuse and maintain security; and
- meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
Where UK or European data-protection law applies, the relevant legal bases can include performing a contract or taking steps at your request, our legitimate interests in supporting and securing PoseSix, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where we specifically request it. You can withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
10. Sharing and international processing
We do not sell personal information. We can share limited information with service providers that host the website, deliver downloads, operate email, or provide app distribution, and with professional advisers or public authorities when reasonably necessary or legally required.
Some providers may process information in other countries. Where required, transfers are protected using applicable legal safeguards. Third-party services remain subject to their own privacy terms.
11. Retention and deletion
Local app information remains on your devices until you replace or remove it. Use Forget PC on iPhone or forget the paired iPhone in Windows Settings to revoke the pairing. Windows diagnostics are ordinary files in the PoseSix Logs folder and can be deleted using File Explorer. Saved profiles and app settings can be reset or removed using the app and operating-system controls.
Support communications are retained only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain support history, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect PoseSix. Website and download infrastructure records are retained according to the provider’s settings and retention practices.
12. Security
PoseSix limits the information sent outside your devices and uses platform security features for local storage. No system is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your iPhone, Windows computer, local network, pairing code, diagnostics files, and any information you choose to share.
13. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you. You may also withdraw consent and complain to your local data-protection authority.
For UK complaints, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact us first if you would like us to address a concern. Because the apps keep most information locally, we may not possess the app data you are asking about.
14. Children
PoseSix does not require an account and does not knowingly collect information directly from children through the apps. If a child sends personal information to support, a parent or guardian can contact us to request its deletion.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when PoseSix, its distribution, or legal requirements change. The current version and its effective date will remain available at this URL.
16. Contact
